Mark graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s degree in Engineering Management. Mark's 35 years of experience in the industry include high level positions for operators, as well as consulting firms. His experience ranges from design, construction, compliance and integrity management. He has been responsible for program development, project execution, as well as operations and maintenance for both natural gas and liquid pipelines. As Vice President, he leads the senior management team at MTS.
Derek Klinkenborg, RPLS, CFedS
Vice President / Chief Surveyor
Derek is a licensed land surveyor in 24 states with 33 years of experience in surveying specializing in the energy industry. He has extensive experience actively planning, and developing schedules, quality control, risk analysis and management, team leadership, and communication with internal and external customers. Plans, coordinates, and supervises all Right-of-Way and Land Survey activities. Works within the senior management team in all planning, operational, and budgeting functions, including contract negotiations and contractor management. Plays a vital role in controlling cost to ensure the department is aligned with the direction of the organization.
Manager of Right of Way
Rob has spent over 40 years as a right of way agent and project manager in the oil and gas and utilities industries. In the last 20 years, as a rights of way project manager, he has seen 28 different interstate and intrastate projects including electrical transmission, fiber optic, and liquid and gas pipelines through to completion across the country. This has given Rob a thorough working knowledge of construction and operational projects from a right of way standpoint. He is available any time to discuss client needs and proposals and, with MTS' resources, meet those needs on any scale.
